AFFECTION................ ....?
Q. Have you ever been kissed a slobbery dog (newfoundland, great dane, blood hound, bernese mountian dog, mastiff or a st bernard)? did he kiss your face, LIPS, OR MOUTH?What did it feel like (Is it slimmy, WET, STINKY) does it feel good?
Asked by St B - Wed Jul 8 16:18:02 2009 - - 10 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I've never kiss my dogs but they've kissed me. Yes it is slobbery, disgusting and you cant help but laugh. Worse is when they shake their heads and the drool comes flying all over you and your home. I even had some plop in my iced tea. Thank God my kids saw that before I took another sip. Saint Bernards are not just droolers but, when they blow coat you will have tumble weeds of hair everywhere glued to your furniture by drool. No, I'm not in to dogs romantically if you're trollin.

How do Japanese People show affection in different ways to people in Europe, and if so how?
Q. In school I have to do an art project on Japan and I bought a book, sadly it does not mention much culture just the country itself, so I was wondering if Japanese people have different gestures to europeans. If they do , how? I read that a show of affection in japan is for the man to lay on the woman's lap, is this true? Also, do they celebrate Valentine's day? Thank you ^^ Arigatou!!
Asked by MusicalNature - Wed Jan 21 11:00:51 2009 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments

A. I lived in Japan for 2 years. I noticed they rarely, if ever, show public displays of affection. You will almost never see a Japanese couple holding hands or kissing in public. This was purely my experience when I was there. I liked that. Why? In Europe I noticed many people tend to show affection in public. I don't mind the holding hands, but when people start to make out in front of me, and I saw that a lot in Europe, it annoys me. Why? I don't need to see it. As for the man laying on a woman's lap, I don't know.

Q. Ive just recently got together with my boyfriend. He doesnt seem to want to show any affection. His hugs are like split second hugs.We havent held hands yet or anything. How can i start without making him feel awkward or anything?

A. He's probably just nervous. Just be the last one to let go when he hugs you. He'll get the point. That doesn't mean squeeze him for five minutes, obviously...just be subtle. :]

What is the difference between love and affection?
Q. I'm sorry, I already asked this but I only got one answer and it didn't really answer my question. What is the difference between love and affection? How can you tell the difference?

A. Affection is the action of love. Love is the feeling you feel for someone. Love: A strong positive emotion of regard and affection. Affection: A positive feeling of liking. The action versus the feeling. c:

What does it mean when a guy show more affection to you in privet than around others?
Q. When were alone he acts really sweet and nice and when were at school he does show as much affection, just a likness.
Asked by Ashley C - Wed Apr 7 19:55:27 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Its nice to keep things private in a relationship, too many people shove it in your faces, kissing cuddling.. get a room... Annoys me!.. Lol.. I think its sweet if he still is respectful to you in front of people and treats you right, but the touching and all that is good to be kept away from social places. Doesn't mean he doesn't love you any less :-)

Is it a sign of affection when your cat licks you?
Q. I know licking is grooming normally but does this mean it's due to affection? My cat licks my hand often when I stroke her. Maybe she can taste food there, but she also licks my arm, has once licked my leg and will lick my nose if I rub noses with her!

A. Hi, Yes it is, they say it comes from their mother, when she used to groom her kittens, your cat thinks you are grooming her so she is grooming you back, i love it.

How do cats and dogs know that getting a kiss from a human is a sign of affection?
Q. Not a french kiss or anything, you know what I mean,,,anyway they lick each other but they never give a quick peck on the cheek to another animal and it seems completely different from their natural ways of showing affection to each other, yet they recognise the affection from a human. Why is this? Thanks.
Asked by Phaedra - Mon Dec 21 18:25:41 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Dogs and cats remember the days when they were very young and the way their mother constantly licked and groomed and cared for them. In a way, they never completely grow up and they regard you as their mother, because you are the one who feeds and cares for them, so they respond to you differently.

What are the actions rabbits do for affection?
Q. I have a bunny, Tapioca, about 7 months old and I'm still a little curious about his behavior because I'm still a tad new on this whole owning a rabbit business. He likes to push his head underneath or inside my hand whenever he's close enough, and I'm not sure whether it means he wants to be pet or not but I do it anyways. Is this a effort to get himself pet or something? If it is what other things do rabbits do for affection?
Asked by M.V. - Tue Aug 18 05:21:48 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Hey, having 6 rabbits myself, Rabbits are Prey animals, and as much as we train them in our homes, to be our pets, they still see us as predators. (having eyes in front of us and not on the side of our heads) However rabbits, will get used to you, and putting his head inside your hand is his natural instinct for digging and nestling into a hole. so comfort with his mother. If you do have rabbits in your home though, I warn you now they chew through phone wires, do droppings under the sofa, and generally ruin anything nice! And be careful when leaving them outside, for the foxes!! I suggest you get a book on rabbits for pets also GOOD luck!

Q. Manchester United fans, after the way he's treated us, do you still love him? My affection for him went from 100% to less than 20% just like that. I was wondering about you cos I'm so close to hating him right now even if he stays. I hope he goes cos it won't be the same even if he stays.

A. Yea, I'm hurt. I loved the kid, as a player for the way he brought our football to an exciting level. But he's done the club a disservice with this media circus he's put on and even if he stays I may never put on another Ronaldo shirt again. Thank god for Giggsy and Edwin, my true heroes on the current squad.

What're your thoughts on the public display of affection?
Q. In my school I see people doing it all the time, in my personal opinion it's disgusting. I mean, why can't they just save it for out of school? Honestly, it's like seeing a teacher make-out, gross, in the wrong place, and uncalled for. Anyway you guys, is this just me? What are your takes on the display of public affection! 10 points to whatever seems to make the most sense whether it agrees with me or not, or a well put together opinion.
Asked by BRI BABY - Mon Jan 5 17:03:58 2009 - - 7 Answers - 1 Comments

A. Well for what it is worth, there is a time and place for things like that and in the public wouldn't be one of them places. If the guy thought anything of his mate then he wouldn't want the World to see him fondle his girl. There are other ways to show it, a peak on the cheek or a sweet soft hug, handing hands. People don't have to see you fondle each other to get the point.

A. Don't tell them as this would cause some embarrassment on their parts if not on yours, show them!!! By giving them hugs & etc. if you want people to display more physical affection towards you, you are going to have to make the first move!!

How can I get my girlfriend to overcome her fear of public affection?
Q. My gf and I have been dating for almost 8 months now but the last few have been a little rocky, I was wondering is there anything I can do help her overcome her fear of public affection?
Asked by shattereddestiny - Thu Nov 27 22:39:00 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. What has caused your relationship to be rocky? Maybe there is an underlying issue you need to sort out? If not, slowly start to introduce affection whilst out in public. Try just leaning in close while sitting together, or placing your hand on her back to guide her. Over time she will feel more comfortable with these gestures, and may start to offer her own in return. Don't rush her though, if she isn't comfortable, wait a little while before trying again. Good luck

What do you do about emotional neediness, like needing constant reassurance and affection?
Q. A friend of mine always wants love and affection everytime we meet, thing is, he's never ready to reciprocate and tell me nice things when I'm hurt :( He barely even notices. I don't mind being nice to him, after all that's what friends are for, but I just wish he'd offer me the same courtesy, it feels so one sided and draining!

A. My mon told me that if you love them let them go, if they come back there yours, if they don't they never were. The problem is that men see things alot differently then women. They seem to be more needy when they are sick or feeling bad, and usually they don't reciprocate. Men are a funny species you just can't figure them out. They have a tendency to be needy. And think you can change them or figure them out better think again.Good luck

My cat bites me out of affection. How can I get him to stop?
Q. When my cat wants attention or to be petted, he will crawl up on my lap and start purring, rubbing his face against my cheek, kneading my face with his paws, and then bite either my nose or my chin. Sometimes he bites my earlobe. It is quite painful, and I want him to stop biting me. But how can I get him to stop without ruining the ritual of affection? Why does he bite at this time?
Asked by ungirl - Sun Oct 29 08:49:43 2006 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Some cats will suddenly bite while they're being petted. This behavior isn't well understood, even by experienced animal behaviorists. For whatever reason, petting which the cat was previously enjoying, apparently becomes unpleasant. Biting is the cat's signal that she has had enough petting. Cats vary in how much they'll tolerate being petted or held. Although people often describe their cats as biting "out of the blue" or without warning, cats do generally give several signals before biting. You should become more aware of your cat's body postures, and cease petting or stop any other kind of interaction before a bite occurs. Signals to be aware of include: Restlessness Your cat's tail beginning to twitch Your cat's ears turning… [cont.]

Why am I so scared of seeing affection between other people?
Q. It's the oddest thing with me. Every time I see 2 people showing some sort of affection, I have this habit of turning away or closing my eyes, so I don't see it. I don't know if it has something to do with the fact that i've never been affectionate with another person before. I've never even dated anyone. Can anyone help me understand this? Is there any way to get past this?

A. Perhaps it's a way of guarding your heart, and preventing yourself from being exposed to deep emotional love or attachments, which always comes with risks of being betrayed or abandoned. Maybe deep down you might feel this way about yourself. Just my view.
