How to handle an authoritarian boss who always scolds his subordinates that their work is not satisfactory ?
Q. The Authoritarian boss is an extra ordinary intelligent and he always scolds his subordinate that their work is not satisfactory and they are taking more time for finishing a task.He expects from his subordinates the same level of problem solving skill he had.
Asked by geyamala - Thu Jul 29 01:51:36 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The only solution for an overbearing boss is to get him promoted out of his position, if possible. Employees should tell themselves that they can't be doing that bad a job, the boss is taking credit for it. You should realize that any person can "think" through a job much faster than it can be performed. Since the boss does not seem to know this, he is not as smart as he thinks he is. He has not learned to calm down and realize that all this work is probably not as important as he thinks it is. He will figure all this out after his first coronary, or maybe his second. If people find it so bad, they should look for another job. The boss will be able to take up the slack.

A. Authoritarian - a form of government in which state authority is imposed onto many aspects of citizens' lives. In particular, many of these institutions militate against individuality and individual rights and freedoms. In turn, "authoritarian capitalism" describes the operational elements of this particular development model. On one hand, authoritarian-capitalist regimes place a limited and selective set of persistent policy interventions into market activities. On the other hand, these same regimes impose heavy restrictions on political activity. Whereas, Soviet economies contrived to have an economy without prices, authoritarian capitalism presides over markets without the guarantee of individual freedoms or rights. Why are a good majority of the people that respond to YAHOO questions authoritarian type personalities?
Q. 9 traits define this personality type, but I'm only referring to the first four: conventionalism, authoritarian submission, authoritarian aggression, ANTI-Intraception. Where did the connection between environmentalism and authoritarian "communism" come from?
Q. Now I don't mean the idealistic, everyone works together and shares everything kind of communism. I mean the actual, historical, massive government, government control, lack of freedoms communism. Almost every actual environmentalist I have met, or read their writings, has advocated less federal govrnment and more local control and self reliance as a means to reduce our environmental impact. I say almost, because I might be forgetting one or two that didn't because they were so overshadowed by those that do. Do people with authoritarian tendencies, if put in a position of subordination, tend to obey their superiors?
Q. My reasoning would be that their higher awareness of hierarchies and authority makes them more likely to obey. As opposed to that, people with egalitarian beliefs can't fathom the idea of one human being superior to another, or having authority over another, therefore they tend to rebel. Of course that naturally submissive and humble people are the best at obeying. But what about authoritarian people? Do they rebel or obey?
Asked by Always Right - Sun Jul 11 20:04:16 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I believe that they usually obey. Everyone is subordinate to someone else, and the authoritarian would not want to risk his own position of authority by being insubordinate when he must obey. For example, managers are subordinate to owners and work within the parameters they are given. Likewise, owners are subordinate to regulators and customers. The rogue mavericks are far and few in between, and yet they know when they must bow to higher powers, or risk losing their own power. I agree with your assessment, "that their higher awareness of hierarchies and authority makes them more likely to obey." As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, those people who completely buck the system are increasingly likely to be held to… [cont.]

A. Domocracy eh? That sounds scary.. Authoritarian and Libertarian are polar opposites... the former proposing complete government control of civilian life and Libertarian advocating minimal government control.. Democracy, I'd assume you meant, is really a separate issue... it means the people can choose their government... I'd imagine they wouldn't elect authoritarians, but they sometimes do, such as with Hitler... they could also elect Libertarians, or anything in between the two

Did Lenin plan to make Russia more authoritarian from the beginning?

A. A smear tactic is a smear tactic, it's hardly restricted to those of a more authoritarian bent.
