What will be tax deducted on my PF withdrawal of 45k?
Q. I will have taxable income less than 40k this year as I am going for higher studies. Will PF income be added to it and then taxed according to slabs? What will be TDS cut on my PF withdrawal of 45k? Any example/reference provided will be appreciated.

A. If you did not have continuous service for 5 years (uninterrupted PF contribution for 5 years), your withdrawal will be taxed. The % is not fixed. Your contribution to the PF is not taxed at all Interest earned on PF accumulated is cahrged under the head "'Income from Other Sources" Employer's contribution is charged under the head "Salaries". Use any tax calculator t understand the exact tax amount. If it is more than 5 years, 0% tax even if withdrawn. For part 1, PF is never taxed.

What brand of chili paste does PF Changs use?
Q. I am a big fan of PF Changs chili paste. I've tried without success to find it in stores. Anyone know what the brand is and where I can get it? PF Changs doesn't sell it- I already asked. Thanks!

A. Well they use cayenne pepper, then they add hot mustard, hot chili paste, soy sauce, white vinegar and sweet chili sauce. ... As for the paste its self all they said was " it dosnt contain any peanuts and is gluten free" But sadly they dont tell the rest. I've asked them in person. Goodluck though(:

No PF form filled but company still duducting money?
Q. I am working with a logistic company in mumbai. I joined this company 3 months ago. Prior to this I never had a PF account. The company deducts some amount of my salary against PF but till date I haven't filled a form to open a PF account. Can someone suggest what should I do? Actually what is my company doing?

A. You must have filled Form-2 (Nomination Form) at the time of joining the company. From this form, your company can issue you a PF Number and can start deducting your PF. There is no seperate form for you to file for PF and it is mandatory for your company to start deducting it from your first day of job, even if you re on temprary roll.
